VIC Exchange Ford Car with New Model - Swapped for Same Price?

I bought a new car from Essendon Ford and have been back for repairs several times (Ford are aware of the power shift problem). After several attempts to fix the car, I asked for the car to be returned to the dealer and exchange for a new car. Ford have finally agreed to exchange for a new model.

My question is, can I be charged an extra $5000.00 for the new car under Australian Consumer Law? They wanted nearly 10,000) but I said no, and they agreed to 5000.

I believe it should be a swap for the the same price.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Contact consumer affairs regarding the dealers request that you pay $5,000.00 - as the only reason you are getting a new car is due to the new car that you brought before being faulty - you should not have to pay extra due to their manufacturing mistakes.
