The police took a DVO (Domestic Violence Order) out on my partner and I am the aggrieved. He tried to fight this in court and lost. He is now appealing this in a higher court and has told me the family court is going to serve me documents. Is this correct?

All documents relating to the DVO were posted so why am I being served this time? I called the police yesterday to ask if this is correct and they told me it was unusual and couldn't tell me what I was going to be served with. Can anyone shed any light on this to help me understand what is going on?
