I have a male friend who is married with two children 11 and 14. He is at beginning of divorce e.g. councellors, etc but his wife is so vindictive. She is selling his personal items, furniture, etc. and using children against him. She has said she will screw him for every cent he has. He has worked thirty years and also bought his property before he met her through compensation. She has never worked or contributed but feels it's all hers. She is very nasty and is there any help for him as he feels defeated? She is very cunning and does horrible things e.g. cancels his keycard, etc. What would be his best first step to get help?

    Hi Dawn,
He really needs to get a family lawyer to help him out with these many family law issues and guide him through the divorce and property settlement process. My other thought was for him to make sure he has all the paperwork/evidence for the items she's selling off.

Which State is he located in? There have been some previous LawAnswers Family Law Forum posts with Family Lawyer suggestions.

The Family Law Courts website has useful information about divorce, property settlement, children's matters and getting help, but it really can't substitute for personalised legal advice in his situation.
