VIC Car Accident Causing Personal Injury to Pedestrian - Dangerous Driving?

Hi. My friend hit a pedestrian when he was driving and they have been taken to hospital (alive but injured). Its been reported to the police who came to the car accident site. He wasn't drinking or taking drugs, not sure if he was speeding.

What should he be doing next in this situation?
