I recently vacated a property after 12 months lease. There was no issue with the lease termination.
During my teanacy i had numerous site inspections. On one it was noted that the carpets needed cleaning. I cleaned the property top to bottom including cleaning walls and i cleaned the carpetss. I did an exit inspection document leaving it for the property manager. There was no property inspection done with the property manager. A week later i recieved an email stating that they, the property manager, had to get the carpets professionaly cleaned and the had a full clean of the property. The costs and work carried out were itemised and the amount was $2400 - the exact amount of my bond. This seems excessive. There was no property damage ever noted.I was not afforded a site exit inspection and i was not given an opportumity to address any issues. I didnt take photos when i started the lease or when i left the property. Do i have any rights?
