hi Me and my partner bought a car from a private seller
When you got the car he told us nothing was wrong with it. That all it need was a service.
We drove an hour to get it.
The next day we notice the petrol gauge wasn't going down so my partner msg him and asked if the gauge work or the seller then replied with no it doesn't I forgot to mention that.
My part has just looked at the car today to release that it needs more then a service. It pretty much needs a new engine put in it.
Do we have any rights cos the private seller lied to us. We bought the car 8 days ago today

nope- if there is no warranty then you had the responsibility to get the car checked before paying for it.

What Sammy means is you can't rely on the Australian Consumer Law to help you.

You may still have a cause of action but it means seeing a solicitor for advice and court action if you want a remedy.
