I've recently been thinking about buying a one-wheel but have been unsure if it is even allowed in Australia and Traffic Law, remembering the news about hoverboards.

If it's motorized and can exceed 10 KMH, then I reckon it will be classified as a motor vehicle... That means to use it on a road you have to be licensed, it has to be registered and have TPI... Highly doubt that they meet Aust safety design standards, so as such would be unregistereable

The best thing is ask your state motor registry about it, you will get the info from the horse's mouth as they say.
I think you will not be able to use on the side walks though.
