I have recently left a share-housing situation where I covered the costs of the $1596 bond deduction with the verbal agreement that my co-tenant would pay his part of $792 directly to me out of his pocket.

A month has now passed and despite repeated admittance that he owes me money and a date agreed upon to commence payments, he has not yet paid any of the owed money. He has now started ignoring my attempts at contacting him and has moved so I no longer know his residential address.

Do I have a legal standing to send a letter of demand?

(Admittance of owed money and agreement on the date when he was to commence payments was made through Facebook Messager and SMS's)

Thanks,

Rod
