I was just after some legal help.

I have Osteoarthritis and Prolapsed discs in the L4, L5 and S1 in my back which can go out at random which causes me serious excruciating pain and paralysis for anywhere from a week to 3 months so far. (The general pain never ends)

I have learned from working that my work physical safe work capacity is up to 8 hours per week which I do struggle with but manage to do this. I do have a medical certificate that rightly states that I do have this permanent injury and am incapable of working for more than 8 hours per week. I can assure you that for me to work any longer than this will cause injury and maybe even death to myself or someone else as when my back goes at random (Usually due to overdoing it) I just drop and cold be holding or carrying anything at the time. The last time this happened I was trying to move a snack vending machine, The time before that I was trying to change a car tire.

Anyway Centrelink and my job agency are trying to force me to work beyond my capable hours. Which will be very dangerous for myself and everyone around me. I am already working the hours I know that I can physically do and would like to know what my rights are as I do not want to have a workplace accident and cause any problems for anyone. They have (and I believe wrongfully) threatened to cut off my payments if I don't sign onto this unfair agreement.

Lifting a vending machine and changing a car tyeare doesn't sound like appropriate work for someone with multiple disc prolapses. Why don't you ask them to help you find work that you can do for more than 8 hours a week.

Well, that's the problem, there is no other work for me unless I work for myself at my own limits, which I am trying to do. This is because I'm a hazard risk, but since posting this, I've become the person that runs the Gippsland Central branch of the unemployed workers union.

Now I know exactly what my rights are and am more than happy to pass them on to everyone else.
