Hello, I had a child last year in December with my housemate. We are not together. What are my rights as a mother not being in a de facto relationship with or married to the father? Please help me.

Under the Family Law Act 1975, you have no rights as a mother, only the child has rights.

The child has a right to know, spend time with and be cared for by both parents on a regular basis, regardless of their relationship, provided such rights can be enjoyed to the extent that the best interests of the child are met.

If you can provide more information about the dispute you are facing, or may face in future, while adhering to confidentiality laws, I can probably provide some more guidance.
