3 weeks ago, I purchased a second-hand car from a dealership. I was told it is in perfect working order and has no issues. It now seems the automatic transmission is faulty/damaged and is quickly deteriorating.

The car is worth approximately $16000 and to replace or repair the transmission will cost in the region of $7000. The 3-year warranty they provided only covers up to $1000 towards repair of the transmission.

What recourse do I have under Australian Consumer Law? Where do I go from here?

Thanks
