NSW Traffic Law - Criteria to Receiving a Speeding Fines Ticket?

I was pulled over and given a speeding ticket for doing 20km over in a 60 zone. A friend told me that there are certain criteria when you are given a ticket and one of them being that it has to be on a straight road, or one that has a clear view, but when I was given the speeding fines ticket, the officer was sitting on the side of the road around a bend. Is this legal under Traffic Law?
