SA Traffic Law and Speeding Fines - Addition of Demerit Points?

I'm in need of some help under Traffic Law in relation to speeding fines.

I was caught speeding by a camera while I was on my P2 licences. My question is, do demerit points get added on the date the fine was issued or on the date the fine is paid?

Demerit points are applied on the date the fine is issued.
