Can someone please help with the time limit that the prosecution has in order to prosecute? I have been waiting over 12 months for my day in court.

Is there a statute of limitations for traffic law matters?

What are we talking about?
A court elected infringement?
Or a charge?

A date has been set but I have been penalised by having to wait for the court for over a year. I am not sure how the court registry will be able to tell me the statute of limitations for taking a traffic matter to court?

Penalised how? Unless you were suspended on the spot?

You have your date.
Now get yourself a lawyer who knows about traffic law,
and who can give you case specific advice about the effects of any delay.
