Hi Everyone

I was in a defacto relationship for 17months .
We have a child who was 6mnths old when I left the relationship.
I owned the house we lived in , he moved in with me .
He did not contribute to the house payments / rates / maintenance of house in anyway .

Can he make me sell the house / pay him out ?
If so , what is he entitled too ?
There is very little equity in the house .
Do I just have to pay him half of the equity & the bank gets the rest ?

Thanks for any advice you can give me , guys .
Totally stressed out & am getting many different answers to what he can have.

It is possible, but likely going to be difficult for him as the relationship lasted less than 2 years.

No. You wait to see if he does anything through the courts. He will more than likely have to get legal advice before he does anything, and he may not have money for advice, and the advice may not be favourable to him, so he doesn't do anything.

De-stress about property, look after bub, and enjoy life.
