I just wondering is it classified as misleading or sales by misrepresentation when a real estate agent quoting us on paper a range of possible rental price on the house for sale that we were interested in and ended up buying the property. Later, we used the same agent company (different department) for leasing the house and they are a bit reluctant on listing the quoted price or what would happen if they failed to lease at the quoted range?
What can we do next?

It can be misrepresentation but is not an easy win if it goes to court. The Agency will likely have good defences available to it.

Chances of success will depend on your individual circumstances. If they can't lease it at the pre-sale quoted figure suggest you might be better off taking the listing elsewhere and asking them to pay the difference.

If it was, you'd have a hard time proving it.

They work for you. They do as they are told or you go elsewhere.

The most effective way to control insubordinate real estate agents is to talk to them in their own language, that is, money.
Perhaps it's time to change agents.Nothing like losing a property off the rent roll to attract their attention. Also, deal with the principal Agent, not some dopey salesman, and certainly not with an over-officious rentals clerk.
