I have been with my partner for 8 years and at the beginning of our relationship, he purchased a property investment, which we had sold last year. We have a child of our own and I have 2 from my previous relationship. I will be having full custody of the kids.

I just want to know what am I rightfully entitled to in property settlement?

There's no rule about what your share of a property settlement should be. It comes down to what you and your ex agree to, or otherwise what the Court decides if you ask it to.

If the Court is asked to decide, it follows a four-step process:
1. What's the value of the shared asset pool?
2. What's the financial and non-financial contribution of each party?
3. What are the future needs of each party?
4. Is the settlement just and equitable?
