I see a lot of ads on places like Gumtree where someone offers a room for rent in South Australia with a rent per week of under $250 and demanding bond for 6 weeks?
Is this legal under property law to charge the tenant who is only paying $200/wk a bond of 6 weeks, considering the whole property is rented for more than $250 and therefore a bond of 6 weeks is allowable for the whole house?
Thanks in advance for your answers. I did search this online and on the forums. It seems to have eluded me, but please point me in the right direction if you know where it is!
P.S. it is for a residential property
