Hi,

My situation is this: I agreed to have my friends and their belongings stay at my house 3 weeks while in between houses. 6 weeks, later I had to ask them to leave after some money went missing from my bank account and discovering they had an ice drug addiction.

I was basically told by them when I had to ask them to leave, that there is a law that stops me from getting rid of their belongings. They stated that they would be taking advantage of this and are basically going to get 6 months free storage.

I have researched bailment laws and am aware I can't just get rid of anything. The belongings take up an entire 2-car garage and is worth a considerable amount of my rent.

They will not pay storage and refuse to collect their goods.

Where do I stand under Property Law? Is there anything to protect I can do to myself? Or am I stuck paying for a garage I can't use?
