So quick question, what the go with pro bono Lawyers who actually work for legal aid NSW yet send you paperwork stating "the client has asked me to help them ut" yet they have not submitted a Notice of address for service to the commsportal...this just feels all wrong can anyone shed any light on this....ie. does the paperwork hold any weight? As a lawyer are they supposed to file a Notice of address for service?

No. Only if they go 'on the record'. Going on the record is optional and looks like it hasn't happened in your situation.

There are circumstances where it is entirely appropriate to not go on the record, one being they may only be providing advice to you (ie not taking control of the matter and communicating with the other side), or they are only assisting with part of the matter (ie parenting and not property).

Best to ask the lawyer.
