Are you the protected person or defendant named on the AVO?
I am defendant. Protected person is my wife. Immigration has asked us for updated police check and medical including court documents recently. I would like to know what happens now and what exactly that court documents would be?

There's some info pertaining to court documents under ' Evidentiary requirements for partner visa holders' at this link >>> Family violence and your visa

It appears to relate mostly to the protected person though...

From your perspective, as far as how the AVO may impact on your PR application, the circumstances around how the AVO was issued may be significant. (you don't need to tell us here) For example, was it a private application by your wife, was it applied for on her behalf by police..... Did you accept it without admissions or was it issued as a result of you being found guilty of assault... It may be wise for you to seek some proper legal advice specific to your case, especially if the AVO was issued as a a result of being found guilty of assault.

Apart from the updated police & medical checks the dept has requested, I don't know what documents or court documents relating to the AVO that you as the defendant should submit...

I'll just repeat that you should consider seeing a solicitor, (perhaps one the specialises in immigration law) to advise on the documents & information you should submit.
