Hi There,
We have just purchased a house, settlement has happened and we have taken occupation.
The house was sold to us with a built in dishwasher.
When we moved in we noted that the dishwasher was not working, we have contacted the agent and seller who refuse to do anything. We have had a technician out who confirmed the dishwasher needs to be replaced. Who is responsible for replacing the dishwasher?

Is it actually a new house, as in, just built & never lived in? ...... If yes, the DW *may* still be covered under a warranty

If the vendors were previous owners/ occupiers, then generally neither they nor their agent has any responsibility to replace.

Oh, that's quite a situation you've got there! It's really unfortunate that the dishwasher isn't working as it should, especially after the purchase. In most cases, the responsibility for issues like this can vary based on your purchase agreement and local laws. You might want to consult a real estate attorney to get a clear understanding of your rights in this situation.

When it comes to the built-in dishwasher issue, it's usually a good idea to review your purchase agreement and any warranty information that might have been included. In many cases, if the dishwasher was part of the sale, the responsibility for replacement or repair often falls on the seller. It's unfortunate that the agent and seller are refusing to take action.

And hey, if you ever need a Mortgage Broker in Wolverhampton to help you with any future housing plans or questions, they can be a great resource.
