NSW Late Car Delivery by a car dealer

Hi Friends,

I booked a new car with dealer in Sydney for an estimated delivery date of 20th August. Now the dealer is informing me that I cant get it before October. Now what are the options to me I don't want another colour, neither I want to buy upgraded version.

Am I loosing my 1000 Dollar holding deposit?

You shouldn't lose your deposit unless you back out of the deal.

As for late delivery, that's not under your or the dealer's control, so it shouldn't affect anything. This should probably be expected nowadays with all cars being imported, especially if you choose any extras that are not standard on the "showroom floor" model.
