I don't know where to start, so will get straight to the point. We are being sued by Whitsunday reginal council for rates unpaid. It's not that we refuse to pay, we are paying a bit each month. We had contacted them late last year and told them our circumstances and how much we could afford at that time. Since then I have received a new rates notice with a due date , which has come and gone.
We have now been issued a claim by the council for $6269.14 unpaid rates. They are saying we have failed and or neglected to pay . I can't see how we have , since we are paying what we can.
Any advise would be appreciated.
