I am about to head to trial after 3 years in the family court system. I have legal aid, respondent is participating undefended. Respondent has not adhered to any orders, submitted paperwork on time, etc.

What I want to know is, how will this proceed? Does he get to question me on the stand, what can he ask me?

Magistrate won't be impressed by the fact that he has not submitted paperwork. He can ask whatever he wants - but it is very likely your solicitor and the magistrate might direct you not to answer.

He has been very rude to the magistrate, he has made all sorts of excuses for not doing as he is asked. They have made allowances for him, but I can see the frustration in their faces when they are up against him. His 13 year old son (who is in my full time care) also has a VRO against him for trying to insight violence against him via a third party at my sons school.
