How do I work out a settlement amount?

Hi there,

I have a personal injury claim and the insurance company has accepted the claim but they want me to give them a figure. I have no idea how to do this, and I haven't been able to find anything online to help me.

Does anyone have a proforma sheet or any advice?

Also, all my medical visits were via hospitals so would I need to contact Medicare for the costs? How would this work? I assume if I get a settlment, I would have to reimburse the government?
