VIC Friend Refuses to Pay Me Back - Go to Police?

Dear Sir/madam,

I've lent a friend $4000 for 15 months and he does not pay me back. When I asked him now to sign me a settlement letter, he refused.

If I want to go to report this to police, can bank transfer from my account to his account take as a proof of lending him money.

Any help please ?

It's a good start to show that you gave him that amount, but it doesn't prove what it was for (eg loan, gift, payment for services/goods).
