Our <500g drone hard landed on the roof of a box trailer (stored in large open area away from residents). There is a shallow hand sized dent & scuff marks. Owner is expecting us to replace roof. Can we refuse and "make good" the damage caused? No insurance on drone pilots side. Thank you

Ask them to get a quote to repair the damage caused, and request their permission for you to do the same. Unless the damage is sufficient to warrant the replacement of the roof, you should only be liable for the actual repairs needed. Even if the roof damage is sufficient to warrant replacement, you shouldn't be liable to do so if the need for replacement was due to it's previous condition (e.g. age, wear and tear, pre-existing damage or fault).

Thank you Rob - appreciate your reply. Damage is very minor but they're insisting on replacing due to it being aluminium. Sourcing quotes at my end. Thanks again
