I gave a builder a 1 star review and shared our experience with his company on an online review website about 15 months ago. Not long ago, I received a letter from his solicitor saying he was going to sue me for defamation, even though the review doesn't identify me as the author.

The review was worded reasonably and gave an honest account of our dealings with this company. So far I have ignored the threat, but I am still concerned I will be taken to court in the future.

Does anybody have any opinion, please?

They can take you to court, but it doesn't mean they will win. As long as you were honest and can back up what you said you are safe - ish . Without detailed facts can't give a better answer.
