NSW Daughter's Medical Appointment - Speeding Fine Reconsidered?

I got a speeding ticket, in NSW and the police officer said that I was driving at 99k in 80k zone. I was going for my daughter's medical appointment. Would sending the proof of that get the speeding fine reconsidered?

You could try to go through the roads authority with the explanation, however they would be unlikely to give leniency.

You are also able to go to the local court to try to get a reduction. However, much will depend on the urgency or otherwise of the appointment and your driving history.

A medical appointment is no excuse for speeding. If you try to use that as an excuse they will think that you have not learned your lesson. Better off to apologise and say sorry.

The conditions on how to have a penalty overturned are on the penalty notice.
They are also available online.
One of the conditions is your good driving record.
If you haven't had a penalty or fine in the last 10 years, they may reconsider.
You can get a copy of your driving record online as well for $25, in NSW.
