If you do not attend mediation with your ex, she will obtain a certificate in order to make further applications with the family court. This certificate would help you to make further applications to the family court in case you need to in the future.

As AllForHer said, it is better to attend the mediation so that you are looked at in a favourable light for being willing to negotiate with you ex in order to make decisions that are in the best interest of your child.

All the best
