Credit Corp have contacted me regarding a credit card debt of thousands of dollars that they have apparently bought. I had been repaying this debt directly with the issuer from 2015 through automatic payments and had long forgotten about the matter believing it had been resolved. After receiving a Notice of Demand from Credit Corp I contacted the issuer to confirm if there was an outstanding debt but other than informing me it had been sold to Credit Corp they would not provide any details. I received an email from Credit Corp linking to an online portal where Credit Corp have provided three options 1) Discount to Finalise Your Account 2) Set up a Payment Arrangement or 3) Propose a Payment Arrangement.

Because I am stranded overseas as a result of the pandemic I did not receive this in a timely manner and the 14 days notice given in the letter expires today.

I would appreciate advice in this situation.
