Hi team,

I've just been informed that the company I've been contracting to for the past 12months has gone into liquidation. They have not paid any invoices since December, so there are about $120k owed.

I believe they knew things were going to end this way, but continued to to take advantage of my services to capitalise on the situation.

Any advice on what I should do next is most appreciated.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Contact the liquidator and give them the details. If the directors knew or reasonably expected the company was insolvent, they can be held personally liable for the company's debts. However, if there was a reasonable expectation they could have traded out of it, it can become a complicated decision. Either way, the liquidator will be the best placed person to determine that initially.
