My young child made some disclosures around some incidents that happened to them in the care of their dad. Also disclosed to an educator.
There is a fvivo in place.
After a push from child protection, police invited us to attempt to make a statement. There was no informal chat.
Didn't go well, even though was willing to talk didn't understand the process- didn't realise it was time to chime in with story in amongst being asked what games they liked to play.
Because there was no disclosure to police in the interview they won't proceed, they wont try again. CP can't interview as it would be seen as goading..
My question - is that really it?
They said basically its a line in the sand, they can't ask about it again, no second attempt.
Physical assault by the dad and sexual assault by a unknown man.. not things a mother can let go of too easily and accept there will be no consequences ever from either.

Is there something else I can try?
