Going through a separation. I have been advised that my wife is entitled to spousal maintenance.

My weekly pay is 2,000 whereas my wife is 600. Two adult working children live at home with my wife. Can someone help how much I should contribute to my wife?

First she must have a need and you must have the capacity to pay it..

Very basically, if she were to make an application to court for SM and her need is established, the next step is to look at your income, deduct your living expenses and set an amount of SM until a property settlement is formalised and put into affect, at which time the SM usually ends..

But importantly, she must either get your agreement for spousal support, or if you refuse, she must make an application to the court for spousal support. Spousal support is not an entitlement.
