I want to handle the application for probate - how can I obtain the original will from the solicitor holding it?

I believe I need to write a letter or complete a form - what do I need to ask for, and do I apply to the solicitor holding it or to the court?

Are you the executor? If so, then usually the solicitor holding the will would contact you so that you can decide the next step in regards to probate. I would write to them and request it if you know you are the executor.

Yes I am an executor, with 2 brothers. (I'm the eldest and handling the process, realizing they have to co-sign the application, but they have no idea of what to do.) I just wanted to do things correctly from the start rather than have the Court then make requisitions for incorrectly filled or worded forms, or the request for the original will being held up because of incorrect or insufficient wording, to the correct party.
