Hi, My mother in law died at the end of April and it all went through probate last week, now the solicitor says he is holding the money in trust for another 3 months to see if any more bills come in. The house has been sold and the money is in the hands of the solicitor. Can you please tell me why the solicitor is still holding this money. I Thank you.

I'ts up to the executor. Is that the solicitor?
Waiting a while is considered prudent.
Most wait 6 months+ after death.
