NSW Will Past Theft Charge Show Up on National Police Check?

I'm 18 now but in August or September 2014 or 2015, I think I was 16 -17years, I lost my job for a huge and stupid mistake for the theft of an item (first time I've ever done something so bad). So I want to know, will it show up on a national police check if the job required it?

I didn't get convicted. I just had to sit in a room where they video recorded me confessing what I had done, then went and spoke to an officer a couple days later instead of going to children's court.

Were you actually convicted of an offence? Or just given a warning?

If you were convicted, even though you were a child it will still show on your national police check for 5 years after the date of conviction. After that it will become spent and will not appear on the standard police check.

If the matter went to court and you were convicted and it is not counted as a "Spent Conviction" then it will show up. You can have a look at the applicable Spent Convictions scheme for your relevant state/territory.
