VIC Will Infringement Appear on Police Record?

Hi,

I was given a "drunk in public place" infringement notice last night to the value of $625. I spent 4 hours in a cell before they let me out. My question is whether this infringement will appear on my police record?

Hi,

I don't think so. In the same way that traffic infringements not involving convictions such as fines and cautions are not generally not contained in a criminal record.

Hi,

I've just answered this on your earlier post. Yikes $625 is a bit rich. Many years ago I was involved in a bit of a pub run into Melbourne and we very quickly found out that the local police lacked a sense of humour. They threatened to charge us with the same thing because a friend waved to another group of friends across the road.

Anyway they thought we had flagged them down. Long story short, it's best not to be caught drunk in Melbourne.
