I've very recently bought a second-hand car from a private seller. I've today discovered that the car has been in an accident and this wasn't passed into me before agreeing to purchase. Do I have any legal rights under Australian Consumer Law?

I specifically asked the question and was told 'no' it had no history of accidents.

Thanks

Australian Consumer Law does not apply to private sales. If you did indeed specifically ask the question and they knowingly gave you false information, then you may have grounds to sue them for misleading and deceptive conduct at common law. You would have to be able to prove it all though.
