QLD Unreasonable Restraint of Trade Clause?

    I have just quit my job and it says that I am restrained from working in my current field within a 50KM radius of my current employer's business and any of their retail stores across Australia for 6 months. Is the restraint of trade unreasonable under employment law? And the fact that I am not a manager nor have any clients. etc?

    I have found a job that I would like to do, but it is within "50 KMs" of one of their retail stores. Help!

    What to do depends on your personality type ;)

    Do you have their confidential business information (eg trade secrets), know their IP, have a specialist skill, were paid above award rates, have their customer contact details?

    If you answered no to all these, you may be in safe ground.
