NSW Tenants Rights for Sublease in NSW?

I am currently sub-leasing a space I moved in and didn't pay a bond and pay my rent weekly. The rent was increased in April and I was not given enough notice. So the person I shared with wishes to terminate the agreement which is meant to run until 2017.

I have been given to the end of June to vacate the premises, which I am hoping to do this weekend but am struggling to understand my tenants rights on whether or not I will still have to pay the rent until the end of the month or not.

I feel I shouldn't have to as the other person is the one breaking a contract.

Is there any written between you and the head-tenant?

If there is no agreement you may just be lodger, and by paying weekly you have a good reason to only pay till the end of the last week you are staying there. But you should also give at least 7 days notice of your intention to leave - in writing.
