VIC Property Law - Buying Father Out of Share in Property?

My mother and father are joint owners of the house (in Melbourne) in which my mother currently lives. My parents divorced >30 years ago, and my father now lives in the USA, where he is a resident for tax purposes. My father says he would like to divest himself of his share of the house in Melbourne, primarily in order to avoid estate tax in the USA. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to do this? Or who to contact for property law advice?
