Hi, just wondering, if a workplace does not have a social media policy, can an employee be disciplined over a Facebook post?

The post read:
So if any of my work colleagues felt it necessary to run back to the manager and tell her anything I'm posting on FB, feel free to hit the delete button NOW! This is my personal page and I WILL post whatever the hell I like on it It is NOT public I have my settings very secure so only those on my friends list can see what I post - unless I make it public! FB cleanup on its way!

If they did not have a policy in place it would be hard to discipline you over the post. They have no evidence to show that you have broken a work policy.
