Hi,
Recently, I got a Notice to Leave with a Notice issued for the End of a fixed-term agreement. I called the agent and offered them even more money, but they told me that I am the current tenant and therefore they can't ask me for money, because they already asked me five months ago. They were referring to the new Queensland law "Changes to limit rent increase frequency to once every 12 months came into effect for all new and existing tenancies on 1 July 2023". Is there a way to prevent that having to move out?

If we have to move out to a new place, they only agree to offer me again a 6-month lease. Will it mean that I need to move out again after six months so that the new tenant can increase the rent for the new tenant?

Thank you in advance,
