Hey all,

I have recently completed my Celebrant course and now waiting for the confirmation.

Issue I've been told about is that people are able to use my ABN to issue invoices under my company name.

I have yet created an invoice as I'm a first timer, but this could pose an issue come tax time.

What am I able to do to avoid this situation and protect myself in the ufure.

Do you mean, how do you stop someone from fraudulently using your ABN? You can’t. They have to be publicly discoverable for obvious reasons.

The best you can do is to be vigilant to hopefully rare chance that it could happen. When it does, you report it to the authorities, write a strongly worded cease and desist, and put up a public notice that someone is improperly using your ABN and advise people to confirm who they are actually dealing with.
