Can anyone advise me regarding the error on my divorce decree, it states that we were married Glenn Innes Queensland not Glenn Innes Auckland. Is the divorce valid or do I have to do it again, it’s taken 17 years for this error to come to my attention. Thank you in advance for any advice

Go back to court and apply for a change under the 'slip rule'.

You may need a lawyer to help do this.

I doubt that such an error would invalidate your divorce order. Besides, should neither party bring the issue up, there’s nothing to worry about and even if your ex-spouse did bring it up to claim that you are legally still married, the claim wouldn’t last 5 seconds in Court.

As Rod stated, if you’re concerned about it, send an email to the Court and bring the issue to their attention. Hopefully they can amend it under the slip-rule without any further applications.

I would just ignore it.
