In June of last year, my daughter found me unconscious, after para-medics were called & started treatment, I had a mild seizure apparently. I was seen by a specialist while in hospital & because I had no further issues I was released 4 days later. Mid December of last year I had a similar occurence but with NO seizures at all. The same specialist claimed that I did, but I had my daughter with me on both occasions, who is an epeleptic & knows what seizures are, tried to tell this specialist that it didnt happen. Before I was discharged from the hospital the second time, I had 2 Doctors come and see me with the diagnosis of Hypertensive Encephalopathy which is dangerously high blood pressure. On investigation it was PROVEN that the medication Indocid was the cause. I stopped taking them immediately and since them my blood pressure has come down to acceptable levels. The specialist refuses to listen to me, my daughter or even the 2 Doctors who were actually treating me in hospital. It was found that I had sleep aponea, I had the sleep study done & it was found that I do have a mild form of it. I was asked to submit a Medical Report, which my GP signed off on, an Optomertrist report which was satisfactory, even the specialist report all saying that I could drive. A week later I received a letter from Vic Roads that from the 1st August 2014 my licence will be suspended because of the sleep aponea report from the same specialist. So much of what he has said is wrong. I am in a small country town where there is no such thing as public transport and I am really needing help in what I can do for an appeal to Vic Roads as to which is the best way to go, an internal review or legal aide & take it to court which I am more than willing to do.
