Hi,

I've not been able to arrange a building inspection on a property within the 5 days specified in the accepted offer contract.

I could've had it done on day 5 if the agent could facilitate access to the property, but was told (by agent) on the phone not to worry too much about the 5 day deadline, it's "fine don't worry about that"... and that they'll let me know when the property is accessible.

Not completely comfortable with verbal reassurance, I emailed (for a written record) to thank them for the flexibility relating to that clause in the contract, and would await their guidance re: access.

5 days now passed.

What would happen if an inspection were to return major faults? Could I back out of the sale? Also, is the seller able to back out because the inspection hasn't been done within the 5 days?
