As a Not for Profit Incorporated Association for 23 years, we have always had an Agenda for our committee meetings. Since our last AGM and new committee, they are not having and Agenda.

Is not having an Agenda illegal or is it Protocol or tradition for incorporated associations?

Thank you.

Hi Thelley,

I would think not. Agendas are there to keep the meeting on track and to help with focusing on the main points of the meeting. They are not generally required by law. It is good practice to have an agenda. However, I am speaking from a corporation's perspective.

I do know that minutes after a meeting is required.

I suggest speaking with the Australia Charities and Not-for-profits Commission for further and more specific information.

You can find governing legislation, by-laws and principles on there website as well.
